WOD stands for Workout of the Day.  The term was coined by the popular fitness company Crossfit.   Crossfit posts  daily workouts (WOD’s) on their website for individuals to complete.  The workouts are very challenging.

An O-WOD is an Office Workout of the Day.   It is a workout designed to be performed in an office environment in business casual attire.  The workouts generally consist of a combination of functional movements such as push-ups, squats, burpees, and jumping jacks.  Our wellness team creates the workouts to focus on muscle groups that people, especially office workers, need to strengthen. For example, office workers typically have weak hamstrings and lower back muscles stemmed from sitting most of the day. We would create a workout that focuses on strengthening those muscles.  The workouts can be modified so that individuals of any fitness level can participate.

We will post the first O-WOD on July 4.  Try it out!
